Michael “Mike” L. Shuck, CPA



AREAS OF EXPERTISE: All types of taxation including individual, partnership, LLCs, and corporate; with specialization in trust and estate income taxation; estate planning; gift tax; agriculture; and the oil & gas industry. Governmental and non-profit audits, employee benefit audits, and reviews & compilations.

EXPERIENCE: Mike was a partner with Shuck, Bennet & Weber, LLP from 2005-2012. He started working for the SBW, LLP in 2002. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for Arthur Anderson and KPMG from 1992 to 1996 and then worked in the mining industry from 1996 to 2002. He became a CPA in 1993. His expertise is in complex tax issues, including mergers, acquisitions, and corporate spin-offs, corporate and partnership taxation, including complex acquisitions and dissolutions. He also specializes in ownership succession planning, as well as estate and tax planning for individual clients. He has extensive experience with business, trust/estate, and individual income tax return preparation. He has experience with governmental entities, construction contractors, non-profit entities, mining, and the oil & gas industries.

EDUCATION: Graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1991.

AFFILIATIONS: Member of the Wyoming and Montana Society of Certified Public Accountants; member of the American Institure of Certified Public Accountants.

FAMILY, INTERESTS ETC: Mike is married and has three children. He enjoys skiing, fly fishing, trail running, and hunting.
